When I think of mid century modern, I think of the white cabinets, dark colors, and clean lines. My kitchen is more of a transitional style, but it is still mid century modern. The cabinets are a deep red, the appliances are stainless steel, and the space is large and clean. I love the color and the clean lines.
There are some mid century modern kitchens that look completely different from the rest of the house. For example, a few years ago, I had a kitchen in the same house as myself that looked like the most stereotypical mid century modern kitchen. It was the worst. It had been completely gutted and had never been used. The cabinets and counter tops were so white and clean, but the appliances looked like they had been ripped apart and were looking really rough.
It’s important to note that the color is not the only thing you should take into consideration when buying a mid century modern kitchen. Instead of white or cream cabinets, you should look for cabinets that are neutral, but still have a mid century look. For example, if you’re in the market for a kitchen to put up in your new home, look for cabinets that are either dark wood or pine, but not one of the two.
If the cabinets are dark wood, they will not be able to withstand the rigors of being exposed to the sun for a long period of time. The sun is the source of heat, so its important to look for mid century white cabinets as opposed to a mid century kitchen that is made of a darker wood like pine. Its important to note that mid century white cabinets will not support the wear and tear that comes from a mid century kitchen.
If the cabinets are pine, you will also not be able to use them as a heat source. Like the cabinets, these units can not withstand the rigors of the sun (and heat!). The sun is the source of heat, so its important to look for mid-century white cabinets as opposed to a mid-century kitchen that is made of a darker wood like pine.
And that’s why you should also consider investing in a mid-century white kitchen and appliances. Although there are more mid-century white cabinets being made, they tend to be more expensive and less popular. While it is possible to find a mid-century white kitchen in your area, I would recommend you look elsewhere.
While I’m on the topic of white cabinets, the other thing to consider is that there are still white kitchens in the mid-century. I think that the best example of this is the kitchen of the late designer of the classic American TV show, Cheers.
I was on the phone when I heard that a certain designer had purchased a white kitchen for his home. The white cabinets are in the kitchen of the house of the late, great, Charles Brasch. He was a famous painter and decorator. He designed and decorated the kitchen in the late sixties. He had a reputation for “decorative white” kitchens. He was also a member of the National Academy of Design, which he was nominated for twice.
The white kitchen, I mean. It’s a classic and classic white kitchen. It doesn’t look like a white kitchen anymore. It’s actually a very different, more contemporary white kitchen. This is the white kitchen of Charles Brasch.
I feel like I should mention that the white cabinets in the kitchen are not white. They are white, but it is not the white kitchen of Charles Brasch. Its the white kitchen of Charles Brasch. I mean, this is a white kitchen with no white cabinets.
