I was recently asked to share a photo of some of the work I do in the old school photography business. I always have a lot of fun trying new projects and photographing family or friends. I always like to think of myself as a “trainer” for my clients. I take a lot of pride in my work and it is not something I will ever take for granted.
One of my clients recently asked if I would do a photo shoot for her new home. She liked the work I do so much that she requested that I photograph her as well. I agreed and did the shoot with her, my daughter, and myself. I was very pleased with how the shoot turned out. My daughter and I got a great shot with her in the middle of the woods. It’s always fun to capture family and friends in your photos.
Old time photography has a long history. I love how it has become more and more popular in recent years. The photo studios use it as a way to sell their products. The people shooting the photos are usually older and more knowledgeable than the photographer, and the people selling the photos will use them to promote their own photography services.
I love old time photography too, and the fact that you can buy it at a store that is a bit more expensive than the ones I grew up with. It’s an excuse to have a good time. It’s also an excuse to take a nice picture. Many of our favorite old time photographers are people I grew up with. And they are the ones who have a passion for the medium and love getting people to show their photos outside of their studio.
My own photography practices have long since fallen by the wayside. I rarely, if ever, take very good pictures, and don’t spend as much time studying how to get pictures out of a camera as I used to. But it doesn’t mean that I give up on the hobby, and I’m still proud of what my dad and grandfather used to do.
My dad used to take lots of pictures of me, which always made me feel like he was some kind of a hero. That and my grandfather. I was the only kid in my family who thought I was special.
With that in mind, I wonder if anyone else has ever taken “old time photography” to the same point. Maybe it’s just me, but I think I’m the only one in the world who still thinks that taking pictures of yourself is a cool, worthwhile thing to do.
It was only a few years ago that I took part in a group of artists and photographers on the Wisconsin farm that I grew up on. For a few summers in college, I was even a photographer for one of the local newspapers. While at the newspaper, I spent a lot of time reading magazines and books about old-time photography, and it seemed like the more I read about the history and art of it, the more I wanted to learn more.
That’s what I did, and I’m glad I did. Before I knew that I wanted to be a photographer, I was already interested in art and photography in general. I was definitely a bit more interested in photography than I was in art, and I think that’s why I was so interested in photography as a career.
I think many of us are drawn to new photography styles that are different from our own. But I think that if you want to be a photographer, you have to understand what types of photography styles work best for different fields and cultures. If you want to be an art director, you have to understand how someone like you might approach their job, and how you might approach yours. You can’t just shoot whatever you want, or take whatever you want, and expect to be able to sell it.
