You can’t really go wrong with this image of two guys sitting outside of a bar, drinking. They are on the second level of laziness, enjoying the sun and shade, and they are sitting right in the middle of it.
It’s worth noting that the only reason the image of the two guys drinking is here is because they are sitting directly on top of the bar, and you can’t really do a great work of photography with two people sitting directly across from each other in a bar.
I love lazy j photography because it gives you great contrast for your subject. The two guys that are sitting outside of the bar are really not that different from you and me, but the way they drink makes their faces seem more like their lives.
I have to admit I love lazy j photography because it doesn’t make me feel guilty about not having a decent camera. The two guys outside the bar are obviously both doing the same thing, but they are not the same guy. The way they drink has something else going on. You can see their faces change and they are acting differently, they are acting as if they aren’t drinking.
That’s because they are. Lazy j photography is a way of getting the look of people’s faces in the camera without them having to focus on their eyes. It’s like a special effect, or a trick to make you look like you are drinking. You can see the man’s face soften and his neck seem to lengthen, but he is still the same guy walking away from the camera.
Lazy j photography happens when the camera is not focussed on the subjects eyes. When the camera is pointed at the subject’s eyes, the result is a blurred image. So if a person is drinking, their face will look blurred. You can see that in these images, you can see the guy’s face change from being normal looking to looking like he is drunk.
I don’t know about you, but I’m a little skeptical when I hear about these so called “lazy j” photos. The only time I’ve ever seen the blurry man’s face is when I was looking at video of a drunk person’s mouth moving. So now that I know it’s happening, I’m going to have to put that in my top five list.
If you think that j photography takes too long to get it right, just wait until you see the blurry face in 3 lazy j photos. Ive seen it in so many other images that I cant even put it in my top 5 of photography.
The point is, the very act of photographing someone is a task. You might think that taking a long, difficult photo in the field is harder than taking a short, quick photo in the studio, but the fact is that taking a long, difficult photo is a lot less work than taking a short, quick photo.
All great photo-making involves much more than taking a few pictures and editing them. It involves an understanding of light, angles, light pollution, and a lot of experience. A great photo is a photo that makes your brain think, “Oh wow, I never thought of that!” It uses a lot of the brain power we use to think “wow, I never thought of that!” to help you make a photo.
