The sun is the ultimate star, the moon is the celestial messenger, and the earth is the earthy base. But what’s the difference between the sun and the moon? What makes one so important? Why do we need to know the difference between a star and a moon? How do we know which ones are important to us? These questions and more are the questions I am trying to answer on this moon photography facebook.

I couldnt tell if the sun was really there inside the telescope. Also, in the picture below I am looking up into the sky and I can actually see the sun. It has a bit of that “mystery” that astronomers have, but the sun is not there.

My point is that we are all so prone to making assumptions about the way stars are. We have to be aware of the fact that they are just starlight, but without the telescope we would never have discovered that. In this case, the sun is just a star. It just happens to be in a telescope.
