We can’t just walk to our favorite spots in the woods. That said, we can’t just be out there either. We must be out there to see the world.
Some photographers feel comfortable standing in the woods. Others feel that they need to get out in the woods. That said, when I was starting out, I was always out there by myself. It was an intense, silent experience. I would look at the woods from a distance, and slowly walk closer so that I was actually looking at something in the woods. But as time has gone on, I’ve realized that I should be out there with people.
The secret of woodside photography is that you need to be out in the woods. It’s a dark, quiet environment filled with birdsong and wind. You should be out there and look at the world.
The best of the woods are the ones that are completely still, so you can look at them from a distance. It sounds simple, but if you’re out there in the woods looking at the world you’re not actually seeing anything. In fact, you’re probably just looking at shadows (which is why the best woods are dark) and you’re not actually looking at anything. Because you were just looking at shadows.
One of the reasons that I love working with wood is because I get to use a small camera for a small price. They are inexpensive and easy to use, and I can go out and shoot a small amount of light to create a whole environment. I can see shadows, but I can see them as a whole, and that works for any environment.
I love that I can create worlds of my own with inexpensive cameras when I’m out and about and can do away with having to go to a studio. I can use them for free and create beautiful images all around me. Sometimes I like to go out and shoot in the middle of the day before work so I can capture the sunrise and sunset in the same light.
I’ve always been a big fan of photography, and a lot of it is thanks to the free stuff I get to do when I’m out and about. I love the work of artists like Robert Doisneau and Jan Lehnardt. Robert Doisneau is a photographer who has been around for decades, while Jan Lehnardt is one of those photographers who just got his first camera. I love how he can capture the moment in every image he shoots.
For me, it’s all about the composition and lighting. The light is essential to the whole process. The best compositions and lighting seem to involve something I can’t really describe with words, but in my experience are the ones that come straight from the photographer.
Both Jan and Robert have shown their skills at creating spectacular photographic images in their own right. The only thing I can compare them to is the master of the art of cooking, the French chef Charles Voege.
I love to be reminded that I’m not the only one with a creative and artistic side. Here are a few of my favorites from the past few years that I’ve taken part in.
