There is a third service that has been a bit of an enigma to me for a while now. It’s called Toledos Technological Academy, and it works like this: A user goes to toledo.org and enters a name they think might be of interest to someone in Toledo, and then they get a bunch of email alerts. Every month, they get an email for some random new person they’ve never heard of.
While it’s a little more involved than some of the others, the idea is that anyone who wants to be notified about anything in Toledo has to go to toledo.org and be put onto the Toledos mailing list, a list that is then sorted by name. I don’t know if this solves the whole Toledos issue or not, but it does seem to make a website that is much easier to use.
The idea is that Toledo is a small town in the middle of a lake, with a small city and a college. They’ve been trying to make it a tech hub for a long time, and have gotten a lot of attention from some big names in the tech industry. They’ve seen a lot of great success, but one of their biggest problems is that it takes a lot of time to get anything done, and most of the people on the list are busy with other things like school.
