boudoir photography is an art form that I have been an avid follower of since the early 2000s. I think it is because I am a sucker for the alluring, sensuous, and erotic. I love the feeling that comes from getting the most out of an individual’s body and soul with the use of our camera. I have been an avid photographer since I was 7 and have always taken photographs.
There are several types of boudoir photography, and I’m going to go through a few of them and show you what I think makes a good boudoir image.
In boudoir photography, you can use any camera you have to create a realistic but erotic image.
The two most important things for a boudoir image are the pose and the lighting. The pose is the most important because in a good pose, a person will look and act the way you want them to look and act and it will give your photograph an air of intimacy. The lighting is also important because you should never just take a picture, you should always focus on the eyes, the mouth, the mouth shape, the hair, the body shape, and the skin.
The easiest way to get started photographing your own boudoir is to find a light source that is the most natural for your subject. The main light source is usually the sun, but for the boudoir image, you can use a single flash on the sun, a softbox on a wall, or a window. Another important factor is that you take a picture of your subject in two different poses.
As with any project, you have to be patient. The best time to photograph a boudoir is immediately after the party is over so that your subject can adjust the position of the camera. Just don’t take a picture during a party when the lights are on, because there’s a good chance your subject will change its mind.
For the color work, you can use a lighted room, a bare white wall, or a bare white window. I prefer a bare white wall for this type of work because it makes the subject glow, as opposed to having it be too subtle.
The color work is usually done with a white light. This is done by placing your camera on a tripod, placing a white sheet or cloth on the wall in front of your subject, and placing the light source in front of the subject. By starting with a white light, you can use a white wall (and thus avoid the white sheet) to avoid the subject changing from blue to orange, which is very common with boudoir photographers.
It’s also possible to use a strobe. This is especially useful if you have a white wall in front of your subject, or if you don’t want to use a white sheet. You use the strobe to illuminate the subject and move it from blue to orange. You can find a strobe on some camera bodies, and in some cases if you have the camera body in a bag, you can attach the strobe to the camera body.
If you are unsure of what camera to get or what strobe to use, we recommend picking up a cheap, used lens. You can also buy a strobe for the same price as a used lens. If you don’t have a strobe, you can always use a cheap, white sheet to avoid the subject changing from blue to orange.
