This is my new favorite podcast! It is a funny, irreverent, and informative journey into the mind and brain of a person who has spent years in the trenches of the criminal justice system and how this unique field of study is the only true form of rehabilitation. Each episode is the result of a new interview with a criminal attorney or a criminal justice student.
Each episode is a bit of a meta-critique of the criminal justice field (or at least the criminal justice system in general), and then we discuss the particular case or case-within-a-case. From those conversations we learn how criminal law has changed from the time we started in this field, and we learn about the ways in which criminal justice is a tool wielded by a government to keep us in line and make us obey.
You can always find the best interviews on our new podcast.

The question is, where do we get our information? We’re not the only ones asking this question. There are even sites that have compiled a list of the top 10 prison blogs. There are many more blogs that focus on other topics as well. So the answer is, they just tell you what they know, and sometimes the information they share is skewed or incomplete.
So when you read a blog post like this one, you are not going to get the complete picture. They are going to leave out some information or omit information that you need to know. That’s how we learn the most.
I find it odd that a major new media outlet would have someone like this anonymous blogger.
But there is no denying the fact that there are many blogs that focus on prison and the many different ways prisoners are mistreated. Most of these blogs are written by inmates themselves, so they often don’t hold back on the raw emotions that prison life can bring. In fact, one of the few blogs I’ve read that is written by a non-incarcerated inmate is One Year Blogger.
It would make sense that someone who writes a blog about a prison would be very familiar with the prison system. We have to assume that cb2uptown is a blogger, and that he has a lot of prison experience. And that would make sense, because prison is the place where he learned most about the ways of the criminal world: the ways that prisoners are mistreated, the abuses they suffer, and the way that the prison state treats them.
It would make perfect sense that someone who wrote about a prison would be a former prisoner, because prisons are the places where we learn how to be criminals. To be honest, I actually have a picture of a man called “Crazy” who I think is the author of cb2uptown’s blog (though he looks a little different) and I think he’s an inmate.
