I would much rather have a room that just sits there. No need for a bed when I can just float away and sleep. The problem is that we have to be in two places at once. To go from one place to the other we need light, and we all know the old saying “darkness cannot drive out darkness.
Although some people like to think a celestial bed is a “sleeping room”, that’s not quite it. It’s more like a floating bed. In fact, in its most simple form, a celestial bed can be thought of as a floating bed. However, the problem is that there’s no way to move it to another spot. It is a single, massive bed that requires two people to be in it at the same time.
Sounds like a lot but it actually isn’t, because a celestial bed is a sleeping bed. There are no other parts involved.
But since theres only one person to sleep in it at a time, it makes its own small universe. It has its own gravity and physics, so it’s pretty well stable. One person can sleep in it, and one person can use the floating bed to move around by simply being on the bed. As long as both people are in the bed at the same time, the gravity of the bed is constant.
At first glance, this is a pretty cool idea. The only problem is that it’s also completely ridiculous and you can’t get rid of it. What you can do is move it around so that you sleep on one side or the other, but never the same side. That way it doesn’t matter which side you sleep on. It’s like a floating bed with a mattress and an invisible wall between you and the floor.
