We have all been there, taken our kid to the shoot and then gone on the shoot with the intent of the shoot being over. This isn’t always the case, but it goes with the territory.
I have a friend who took her daughter to the shoot at a very young age and even though it was a bit awkward at times trying to act like the mother of the child she was modeling, she loved it. You see, all the models were dressed in the most amazing outfits and she got to pose with them. It was a very memorable shoot for her. The best part was the fact that you could see her pose and walk around the room with them.
That is to say, you could see her and the children and not recognize her. Many of the kids were so young that their hair was curly. I guess that is why those photos are so nice.
I can’t believe our eyes. This is the first time I’ve seen her do a full-body pose in front of a camera. I’m not sure how she managed to do it, but as she made her way to the front of the room wearing a dress, I’m almost certain she was the best model she’s ever done.
I think that if you were to ask kids what they wanted to be when they grew up, they would say that they want to be a photographer. I would imagine that most of them would like to be a model, but not one who really is interested in the industry.
The industry is a huge part of what makes the careers of those who pursue it possible for these kids to make it through college and into the workforce. Its not just the fact that these kids have to take on jobs in the real world, but that they have to pass the camera through the same filters and make the same decisions as their peers. It’s a tough road to climb, but most of us have gotten to where we need to be.
That’s why I think that we should be encouraging our kids to take some time to really look at the modeling industry. They are real people, and in the real world most of us don’t have to worry about the models getting hurt. I say this because the models are not just models. They are people we are very familiar with. I have met many of these kids who are just as comfortable standing in the wings as I am.
It seems that there is a shortage of models. We really need to stop the trend of only modeling teens and start modeling ALL of our kids in the future. I know it feels like a hard thing to do, but we all need to do it. It’s just a simple way to show them that they’re important and that you care.
I am not saying model photography is bad. I am just saying this is a trend that has gone too far. I have had a lot of models cry on camera for a long time, and I am not saying that is okay. If you ever have a photo taken of a child you are not satisfied with, send it back. If you are going to take photos of your kids, I would encourage you to have them model their faces in some way.
I have no problem with kids modeling. In fact, I think the whole point of children modeling is theyre trying to convey to us that they really care about what they are doing. But I think the fact that you are taking their face in a way that is not flattering or flattering them, especially if its on a magazine cover, is a bit extreme. And besides, I think most people do this to show their love.
