I find it interesting that many of the photos on this website are of chimps in their natural habitats.
I remember my first encounter with a chimpanzee when we were on safari in South Africa. It was quite a thrill when we saw a mother and baby chimpanzee sitting in the grass in the middle of the bush. They were playing, and I got a really good look at the baby chimp’s face. It was cute and I was like “Wow, this is so cool!” I’d never seen a chimpanzee play with a baby before.
In this new photo of a chimp on the back of a chimpanzee, it looks as if the chimp is staring straight into the camera, but I’m not so sure about that. So if this is where we find ourselves in life, how are we going to change it? I guess we’ll just keep finding different things that make us feel a bit better about ourselves.
I can’t really say that my life is perfect, but I do try to make the most of the little things in life. I am a working mother of two and I try to be a good role model for my kids. I live in the middle of rural Missouri where there are lots of empty houses and lots of trees and lots of birds and I try to make sure my kids have a good childhood.
