Emily Burke, who I first met in 2014, has been my creative muse since I was a freshman. She is the only photographer I have ever met that has the natural ability to capture the essence of her subjects and get a sense of their personality. It’s a talent that has brought me to tears many times.
I’ve mentioned her before, but in 2015, she published her first book of photography (that I was in attendance at) called, “Embracing Your Own Story.” After that, she’s been photographing artists and photographers in a way that is so personal that I’m always struck by the images she endows them with. In 2019, she published her second book, “The Only Way.
It has been a challenge to understand where to find the essence of this great photographer, and I think a part of that is because she takes everything so deeply, not just her subjects, but the objects and environments that surround us. It is a challenge to even look at a photograph of a home, and in the few times I have tried to do so, I have found that its a challenge to look at the house with the knowledge that everything around it is the essence of it.
As an art professor, I had been studying photography for a while, but I had no idea the true essence of it until I started to study emily burke’s work. She took all the time in the world to study a house and figure out its beauty, and from it she developed an approach to photographing it that allowed her to capture the essence of the house.
emily burke is a photographer who specializes in large-scale architectural projects. Her work has been featured in publications that include Architectural Review, The New York Times, and The Wall Street Journal. She is currently working on her next book, which will be published soon. She is also a curator with the Drexel University School of Art and Design and has been working as a curator/photographer for the Philadelphia Museum of Art in their annual show.
This is the first time I’ve seen her work, and I must say it’s quite beautiful. Emily’s work is quite literally the crown jewel of her career. What really caught my eye was the use of color. Her photographs have an innate sense of depth and the colors used in them are quite vivid and vibrant.
Emily Burkes photography is quite a departure from the traditional medium of photography, in that it uses color and a sense of depth to capture the viewer’s attention. The use of color in Emilys work is very deliberate and deliberate and uses a variety of primary and secondary colors that are used to enhance the beauty of the image, yet, she uses a very particular color palette. The colors used are all very vibrant and vibrant and her use of colors is quite unique.
While it isn’t exactly a breakthrough in photography, she’s managed to create a very unique and appealing style of photography that has people talking and asking questions about what she is doing.
I’ve never seen someone so specific about her use of color and such a bold statement in her work. It is so out-of-the-box and unusual that it makes it stand out. I was excited to see it.
In her first year at art school, Emily was a bit of a rebel. She was always taking pictures and creating images that showed her point of view and how the world was. She didn’t like what she saw in the world. She was into fashion and art in general so she was also into photography, but not to the point that she was making images of herself.
