I’ve been dreaming of a farmhouse for quite some time now. It’s a vision of a classic, cozy country cottage complete with a big front porch and a barn. The original farmhouse in my dream was my childhood home, but my husband and I are still looking for the perfect space for us to enjoy our new life together.
As I mentioned in the introduction, the entrance to our dream farmhouse was the only thing that made it look like the real thing. The rest was all made from wood, which is why we were so nervous to pick up the phone and ask for an appointment. So, we’ve been working hard to perfect the entryway, from its overall dimensions to its finish.
We spent the better part of a week getting the perfect look here. The entrance door needed its own section of the wall to frame it, and the top of the door is already hung with a shiplap shiplap, which is the most common way to hang shiplap. So we made the entire top and bottom of the door shiplap, using the same size shiplap that we used on the walls.
We also made a pair of simple shiplap “tiers” attached to the door. These will act like a “frame” around the shiplap that sits in front of the door’s opening. Because we didn’t want a frame of shiplap to interfere with the door, we just put a couple of thin strips of foam in place.
I love shiplap frames. They give a cool rustic look to the whole house and they’re so easy to make. My favorite shiplap entryway is this one. It gives the whole house an antique feel, and we used the same shiplap as the house walls and doors.
We actually used a similar frame and foam shiplap as the entryway walls and doors. But because this entryway is not the main entry, we used a different shiplap for the door. This one is a bit more rustic in feel and color, and I think we’re going to do it again for the main entryway.
The farmhouse entryway is a great example of how you can break up an old-fashioned entryway with a few simple shiplaps. Not only is it easy, but the shiplaps are reversible. This is something that can really help make the entryway into your house look more rustic and old-fashioned.
This entryway is so charming. It has a ton of little details that create a charming, casual entryway. The door panels are wood and distressed. The shiplaps are reversible. It’s a pretty straightforward, classic, old-fashioned entryway.
This is probably one of the coolest entryways that I’ve ever seen. The wood is distressed, but the shiplaps are so cool. The wood is distressed, but the shiplaps are so cool. The shiplap is a type of door panel that has a flap that can be opened and closed to open the door. It can also be made to open and close if you put a piece of wood or metal inside the flap. It is a beautiful, classic, old-fashioned, wooden door panel.
