If Thaumaturgical Knowledge is installed right-clicking on any Infused Stone will convert it into Imbued Stone and drop Ethereal Essence of that primal aspect. If you break any node you should get auram from scanning the ethreal essence it drops. Simply clicking on any type of thaumic device or conduit will show you how much pure vis it containts. While the Vis Detector is in your inventory or hotbar it will also display a bar in the lower right-hand corner of your screen.

Note that in current versions, the research table doesn’t use paper, it only takes research notes created with the Thaumonomicon. When you click a primary-research icon in the Thaumonomicon while carrying paper and scribing tools, you will gain a “research note”. Placing this into the research table will reveal a grid of hexagons, with aspect symbols arranged around the edges. No more aura nodes, not much unseen to be seen if you catch my drift. Probably should have checked this before making them, but it’s usually a safe bet with thaumcraft.
