I’ve been a computer user since I was a little kid. I’m more of a tech guy than a nerd. When I was in college, I started using my PC at a conference of the Student Technology Association. The first thing I saw was a huge black box that sat in front of the speaker system. It was a large rectangle with two huge dials, one on top and one on the bottom.
A big black box. We were all staring at it.
That’s because it was a massive black box. This could have been a conference room, an office, or basically anything you can think of that’s big and black. But it had dials on it and a screen that could be used to dial in to the conference.
The first thing I thought of was that this could be a giant video game console. Its appearance also suggests that it may be a giant video game console. It’s also a massive black box that could be any of several things: a giant video game console, a video game console, a giant video game console, a telephone, a telephone, or any of a thousand other things.
The second thing is that this may or may not be an office technology certificate.
The reason I was thinking of this is that it is so much less expensive than any of the other things these companies have to offer. It’s cheaper to be able to sell these things than it is to be able to sell these things to anyone. It could be a giant video game console, a video game console, a giant video game console, or anything in between. But it would not be an office technology certificate.
I’ll give you the third thing. All those other things you could get you need your own computer.The reason I was thinking of this was because one of the most popular ways to get a computer these days is to go online. The problem is that you can’t get any of these things without a computer. For example, Google Earth requires a PC. Gmail requires a PC. Google Docs requires a PC. These things are not computer-dependent items.
And that’s it. The computer is the computer. But it would not be an office technology certificate.
This brings up a common question, “Doesn’t the word ‘office’ mean ‘computer-related’?” This is because it does, but not in the same way. Technically, the word “office” means “computing device”, and “computing device” is actually the more natural way to say it. Office does not mean a computer. It means a place where computers are set up.
Of course, the office is the place where computers are set up. All the computers in the world will not be the same as one another. They may be the same form factor, or perhaps the same model, but the way they are set up is what tells us where they are in the office. The office is a complex place, and computers really do not want to fit into the office. And therefore don’t, even though we have a whole bunch of them.
