I was born in Australia, and spent 5 years living there and spent 10 years living on the Pacific Northwest of the United States. I’ve been photographing and writing about the Northwest for years, and I’ve also spent time living in Canada, Mexico, and the Caribbean.
I live in the Pacific Northwest now, and that makes me a pacific northwest photographer. I’ve spent my life photographing people in the forest, mountain, and city, and now I’m photographing people in the ocean. It’s a very broad subject, but I think I’ve got it all down, so I thought I’d share it here.
I can totally see why photographers love the subject, because the Northwest does a lot to influence the style of most photography. The subject itself is often beautiful, the light can be stunning, and the sky can be spectacular. And even if that isn’t the case, the location alone is worth the trip. The Pacific Northwest is beautiful and diverse, with mountains, rainforests, bogs, forests, and beaches.
As you can see from the photo above, it isnt all that easy to find a good photo of the Pacific Northwest. Some of the best shots come from the Northwest, especially the area surrounding Puget Sound, but you can get better results by going to the coast.
If you like to take your photos near the ocean, it’s probably best to head to the coast where the wind blows constantly from the ocean. The best places to take photos are the islands, the coast, and the mountains. Even if you only have a small area you want to get pictures of, you can take great photos by taking photos of what you see. You can even take your camera into the wind and get great shots.
The best time to take photos of the ocean is during a calm ocean because the wind will blow the sea spray off the ocean and into your lens. If the wind is strong, you can take a photo of the ocean from the side of the road, but it’s likely to be a blurry mess.

Photographing the ocean is easy if you have a camera with a long lens, but taking pictures from the side of the road is a real challenge. As a result, it is much harder to take decent photos of the ocean on a sunny day. The wind will also be blowing the camera and you might not have even a second to find a decent pose so you end up with a blurry mess.
