Of course, if you have a professional camera, you will always need a good light and tripod, but it gives you a lot more freedom and flexibility in your shots. You can use it to show off your craftsmanship, or just to make a cool photo (I love the wide angle effect on the end of the shot).
As a self-styled “professional” photographer, I would love to see more of my work shot with a smartphone. But I also feel like it’s a little hard to show off without a tripod or light, and I guess I should know that the people who want to show off their craftsmanship, and style, are the same people who want to show off their skills and ability to shoot.
Salad photography isn’t as easy as taking pictures of a bowl of salad. Salad photography often uses the same light source as a macro lens, which means it needs a good tripod and a steady hand to maintain a stable shot. And even that skill can go for a toss. When we say we are a photographer we often mean that we have a camera and a camera bag. In other words, we are a professional photographer.
A lot of food photographers have a hard time getting their shot. And I think that’s because they have a hard time getting their shot because they are not used to shooting with a tripod. You might be a pro, but that doesn’t mean you know what to do. I know a lot about salads because I’ve photographed a lot of them. And I think I also know what a good one looks like.
One way to get a good shot is to use your camera’s lens to create a nice wide-angle image. This is a technique I learned from a friend of mine, who also was a great photographer. He was able to use his lens to create a wide angle shot of a bowl of salad without even taking the camera off the tripod. He said it looked like a big, blurry photograph of the bowl.

I could not agree more and this is the first thing I’ve ever said that I think everyone should know about. Landscapes are absolutely the best way to take portrait photos, and it is one of the most important skills you can learn to capture good camera work. However, you must be prepared to create a landscape shot from a normal or wide-angle lens if you are shooting with a DSLR or mirrorless camera.
