I know technology is an extremely important part of our modern day lives, and so are computers and phones. This is why I think the technology zombie stereotype is so prevalent. Technology is often thought of as being like a zombie, one that must be taken care of and controlled by anyone who has access to it. Yet the idea of zombies is one that often conjures up images of someone on a bus, or in a dark alley, staring into the abyss.

In a way, the idea of a zombie virus can be seen as a perfect representation of this “technology zombie” stereotype because it gives us a way to explain the way technology is used in our lives. For example, a virus can be used to control a computer. In that way, most of us think of viruses as being like our zombie virus. However, viruses are just another way of controlling computers, and in that sense they’re more like zombies too.
