The first time I saw a toddler bedroom, I was so amazed that I knew immediately that I wanted it. It was so spacious and had so much space to enjoy, so I wanted it.
My own toddler bedroom, however, was much simpler. I wanted a simple bedroom that would provide space for my two toddlers to grow and play, while also providing a place where I could easily store things I cared about. I also didn’t want it to look so sterile so I wanted a playroom that was as colorful and colorful as it could possibly get. The first thing I did was add some color to my bedroom, and my toddler bedroom was born.
The first thing you do in any new room is add something to it so you don’t forget where you are. For example, I thought about adding a small collection of colorful, brightly colored plants, but that would have been too much and not enough for me. So I started adding a small, simple collection of colored flowers (and even a few colorful tulips) to the back of my bedroom.
I think that’s great, but some of the newer bedrooms are still “bare boxes,” with all the decorating being done in place. Many of the newer homes are designed with a minimal amount of decorating, with the walls having little or no wallpaper. This can make it easy for kids to forget where they are, but to help their room feel fresh and clean, you’ll want to try and add a few accents to the walls and floor.
I have a couple of small bedrooms with decor that is simple yet stylish. One is the playroom, where my daughter and I play for hours. The other is the nursery, where I have the most fun of all. For the nursery I just went with bright colors, some of which are quite ornate. I also put some simple rugs on the floor, which adds a nice sense of order.
There are ways to decorate your room to be kid-friendly, but even with a lot of attention paid to the room, it can still feel impersonal. As a toddler, I had a hard time getting used to the ‘rules’ of decorating. By now, my daughter is much more used to it. I hope this little project will help as much as it did when she was a baby.
The thing you have to remember is that when you are a toddler, you’re most likely in your own little world. It’s hard to get a sense of the real world around you. The rooms that you were raised in are the ones that are closest to the real world. So the things you think of as the real world are the ones that look like the real world, and the things that are close to the real world are the ones that you think are the real world.
The rooms that you think of as the real world are the ones that look like the real world, and the things that are close to the real world are the ones that you think are the real world.
One night, I was looking through a box of old photos and noticed something that had no parallel in the real world. I asked my wife to look through her photo album and she said, “Look through the bedroom and you’ll see my mom.” It was a room full of photos of her and four other people from her childhood. It was all the places that I knew my mom was. It was the real world.
But then I looked through the photos and noticed something else. The photos had been taken in the same exact moment, but in different light. They all had the same exact lighting, but they had a slight difference in style. They all had the same exact color palette, but they had different textures and styles. And they all had the exact same exact size. The photo was taken on the same night, but they were all taken with different filters. It was like a different world.
