This institute in Vivekananda is the only one in the world that offers education in technology. While the institute itself has been around for over 30 years, the students have gained many skills and learned many new things in the process. The institute is run by the students themselves who are also volunteers. The institute offers a number of courses in computer programming, multimedia development, audio and video editing, and photography, among others.

For now, the students are still learning how to make a movie. Theyre still learning a lot about how computers work, how to write a story, and how to film it. But theyre also learning how to edit movies, and how to fix the glitches that come up. This is the first time Ive ever seen a movie shoot from the front seat of a car. It felt cool and special.

To us, vivekanand means the institute of technology, but to those who know Bangalore, it literally translates to the largest institute for education in India.
As the video says, when vivekanand was founded in 1993, it was the first Indian institute in the world to offer a complete engineering degree (the first such degree in the world). Today, we offer degrees in the fields of architecture, industrial engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and computer science. In addition, we have research institutes with laboratories for doing research in the physical, mathematical and biological sciences.
All of this academic rigor comes at a cost (a lot of it is financial), but the institute makes a living by providing students with an education that is the envy of the entire country.
Today we are the first institute in the world that offers a bachelor’s in computer science. Although we provide the computer engineering degree, our students choose to do their research in the physical, mathematical and biological sciences. Our research includes things like 3D printers, 3D modeling, digital microscopy, and a variety of computer engineering projects.
The institute has been around since 1998 and has some 250 students currently enrolled in its computer science department. The vivekanand educational society’s institute of technology is based in Sweden. All of our research in the institute is done locally and we have a lot of students enrolled in it.
